What I like about the Unicorn book
I like the unicorn standing on the book (cover illustration).

I like the Dragon book
What I like about the "dragon book" is the dragons blowing fire but its not good to blow smoke. People shouldn't blow smoke they might get sick.

Bryan Auxier 's newest book is here!
This is another meaningful fairytale by Bryan Auxier with just enough reality to make readers believe unicorns really could have existed! Remarkable illustrations bring beautiful horses to life as unicorns. This book also announces the title of Auxier's next book in the "Where" series - "Where Have All the Fairies Gone?" - I can't wait!!

99% Inspiration: Tips, Tales & Techniques for Liberating Your Business Creativity
Published in Paperback by AMACOM (November, 1993)
Author: Bryan W. Mattimore
Average review score:

Superb
As a colleague of Brian's, I'm always looking for things to criticize. But in Mattimore's case, I must say that I can't find fault with his work. This is a superb book, and my suggestion to you is buy and enjoy it. This is truly one of the better books on the market.

A reference book on creative thinking stimulation
Bryan Mattimore presented processes that have fueled my consulting practice. I find myself flipping through all my downturned pages whenever I need creative thoughts or whenever I need a creative approach to almost any situation. This is simply a great reference book.

A Swiss-Army Knife of Creative Theory and Techniques
Mattimore gives us a readable overview of both theory and technique. Breezy style, not bogged down in rhetoric and faddish tricks as other management books often are. He explores the techniques used by proven creative-types, famous and not-so-famous. The results count, and his examples and personal experiences prove the methodologies. Readers of similar books may have seen or heard some of the stories elsewhere, but there's enough new to keep your interest. I have used his techniques and they do work for idea generation. He supplies enough, so that with a little practice, you can get started

Ant and Bee and the Rainbow

Loved It!
I too remember this book as a child in the 70s. My brother and I LOVED it. I didn't realize it was part of a series until I worked in a bookstore in London 3 years ago.

Bring this one back
I bet a publisher could make some money bringing this book back into general circulation. I remember Ant & Bee and the Rainbow vividly as a little kid during the mid 1960s, so it's been around a while. While the particulars of the story have faded over 40 years, I do remember the colors and the humor and maybe even the suspense bringing me back to look this one over again and again as a 2-4 year-old. I would love to get my hands on it for my own young children. If anyone has any tips on getting a copy, let me know.

Whimsical Characters and Fun Adventures for Preschoolers
I got my first Ant and Bee book for my son on a recommendation from a nursery school teacher from the Bank Street School. My son is not quite two years old, and already follows the pictures and words in these classic books with glee. And because they are just his size, in bright colors, he especially likes to carry them with him when we travel. He likes pointing out characters like the Zoo Man and the Kind Dog, and of course, Ant and Bee. Most interesting about these books is that the text itself is fun for children to look at. Key words are highlighted with varying fonts and colors, and sections are sprinkled with minature versions of pictures from larger illustrations. Ant and Bee and the Rainbow is about colors. The intrepid insect friends like rainbows so much, they decide to make one of their own by painting half an old tire propped up on the ground. Each book has its own special twist with familiar objects. I recommend the entire series. It's too bad the! se are hard to find. They are wonderful. If Amazon can get them for you, it will be worth any wait!

Ant and Bee: The First Alphabetical Story
I grew up with the Ant and Bee series (here in the US). I would love to see this series back in print. Is there anyway for Amazon to forward all the customers requests to the original published to bring them back. I now have children that I would like to share these books with. Christine Blumberg

Why is this out of print
My son loves this book and has for the last two years! It helped him learn the alphabet and now he has started to read it on his own. Why on earth would such a good series of books go out of print? I loved them when I was little and would like to be able to buy more for my four year old son.

Fondest memory of childhood reading
These are the greatest little books. Perhaps enough great reviews will persuade Heinemann to reprint?

Approaching Zero: The Extraordinary Underworld of Hackers, Phreakers, Virus Writers, and Keyboard Criminals
Published in Hardcover by Random House (March, 1993)
Authors: Paul Mungo and Bryan Clough
Average review score:

Very interesting book
The book is amazingly interesting. I believe for a beginner who wants to know some history and have some basic idea of what hacking and virus is, this is the book! The writer also has done a good job on collecting all kinds of examples.

Fascinating
This is a fantastic book for anybody interested in the begginings of the hacker and phreaker world. This book accounts many of the first large and small feats by these amazing pioneers of the computer and electronics world.

Captivating, but disjointed
This book is a bit scattered, and if you're looking for a novel on computer crime this is not it. However, these real life accounts of hacking are fascinating. The authors did a great job researching these accounts and the result is an intreging book that keeps your interest throughout. It's a nine.

Armstrong Encore: The 2000 Tour De France
Published in Paperback by Velo Press (30 November, 2000)
Authors: John Wilcockson, Charles Pelkey, Bryan Jew, and Graham Watson

Armstrong Encore - A Real Cycling Book!
Armstrong Encore is the best cycling book I have ever read. It does not insult the cyclist intelligence like most other cycling books I have read. It gives in-depth information of day-by-day following the 2000 Tour. It give explainations and insight that can only come from the pro's themselves. This kind of coverage is not found on TV or videos.

Great Book

great coverage of 2000 tour de France
I've read many books about cycling races over the years and this has to be about the best. excellent in-depth coverage of Lance Armstrong and the US Postal squad as they attempt to repeat their previous year's victory. I could hardly put it down. in fact I'm already reading it for the second time.

Batman: Dark Legends
Published in Paperback by DC Comics (June, 1996)
Authors: Various, Bryan Talbot, Dan Raspler, and Arthur Ranson
Average review score:

Best of Batman
"Masks" and "Tao" are my personal favourites both because of their intelligence and beauty, something hard to find together.
Masks is a disturbing and compelling tale of identity while the eastern quest of 'Tao' fits Batman's spiritual history quite well.

Absolutely superb!
One of my favorite Batman graphic novels! I especially liked "Sanctum" and "Masks", both of which stand on their own as excellent Batman stories ("Sanctum" gave me chills!). The artwork is all first rate, too, making this one a winner on all counts!

Dark Legends for dark times. . . .
I first read "Masks" one of the several stories featured in this excellent collection when I was a kid and it's haunting, dark imagery, has not ceased to entertain me. As well as the above mentioned story, Batman: Dark Legends also has a tale about Batmans first encounter with the Joker, which is one of the greatest Batman stories in print buy this book now, you'll treasure it forever! Peace.

Beneath a Sapphire Sea

Fantasy into Reality
I loved this book because of the out of this world elements. I always was fascinated with mermaids and mermen lore. This is highly entertaining read.

Extremely Interesting!
I read this book several years ago and I still occasionally re-read it for pleasure. I've never read another romance exactly like it; it doesn't follow the typical "formula".

Mermen are HOT!
This was a very well written book. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book about a modern day woman getting involved with a merman. She lives by the sea on a small Greek island studying archelogy and meets a mysterious man down by the water. None of the locals will tell her exactly what dangers are involved with listening to sirens or hanging out with strange men that remind you of seaweed or saltwater for some reason. One kindly neighbor woman who has worshipped the merpeople warns her secretly but is too late. The heroine has been chosen by the merman as his mate and she carries strange lost scrolls that may help the merpeople avoid a terrible catastrophe. The merman has a powerful enemy among the renegade merpeople though and that merman may endanger everything - the heroine, the hero merman, the merpeople, and all the earth. Very well done and serious treatment of merpeople in a very suspenseful and dark romance book

borrowed black
Having endured (and loved) 3 children growing up and spending endless hours reading mindless stories ....this story stands out as the one that I never tired of reading ......
Scary but safe ......fantastic dreamy imagery by Jan Mogensen ... a special book for my (final)daughter ... ....a belief reinforced by her 78 yr old grandfather who read same book and was mightily impressed too ....there are too many boring kids books ...this is not one of them ...my highest congratulations to the author and illustrator .... a step ahead of the rest ......

Borowed Black- An Ageless Classic
I remember having read this book in elementary school and it was instantly my new favorite book. I adored the morbid imagery and enjoyed the rhyme of the text. Because i have been parted with this book for so long, (I'm a sophomore in highschool now),I hardly remember anything specific about it and thought no one else on earth had even heard of it, I truly want a copy of it. Which is why i have come to this online bookstore. It is such a sentimental piece of my childhood and a real instigator to my peers and teachers as to make them wonder how such a young child could be so obssesed with such macabre imagery even though it is a children's book. Yes, this is definately a favorite of mine. Even though I now read english literature and things of a mature nature, owning this book would certainly help me achieve closure on an unfinished section of my personal reflection. I highly recommend this book for all ages. A beautiful and horrifying piece of work.

Eerie and Intriguing!
This is one of the best children's books I have ever read. However, I think adults will enjoy the book more than children. It's an eerie and intriguing tale told in verse, with bleak illustrations to match! This is a good verse to read outloud by the fire. Hopefully the book will be printed again.

Buddy & the Jack: A Novel
Published in Hardcover by PublishAmerica, Inc. (28 October, 2002)
Author: W. Bryan Smith
Average review score:

A great story!
Buddy and the Jack by W. Bryan Smith made me laugh, made me cry, and kept me reading until I couldn't read anymore--a true page turner for me. What I enjoyed the most about this novel is the warm relationship between Buddy and the Jack, and how they survived not only in the streets but against the ferals. I also enjoyed the human romance, which honestly, had me laughing here and there, and the way they got involved with Buddy and the Jack. This is definitely going to be one of those novels I'll be reading again.

Animal Lovers will want to read this
What a terrific book for all animal lovers! If you dont already have a pet you may want to go right out and adopt one or more after reading this book.

Pet owners know that our 'children in fur coats' have feelings which they lovingly express to us, yet they can't always communicate to us how much they appreciate and need our kind words and gentle care. Because this story is told mostly from the perspective of the two strays, the reader gets to understand this concept.

It is one of those books that you dont want to put down, yet you don't want it to end either, because the author has you laughing at and rooting for these two characters and their human aquaintances. Buddy and the Jack is a great summer read!! I recommend it to everyone.

A Wonderful Book
Buddy & The Jack is a story about a blind dog and a Jack Russell terrier who helps him. The Jack becomes Buddy's eyes and leads him on a journey through all types of perils. It is an emotional novel that will have you laughing one moment and crying the next. It's not just a dog story; there are subplots involving human characters, too. The book is well written and the characters are very real. I had at one time lost a dog that was dear to my heart and can relate to certain situations in the book that are handled very sensitively. I would recommend this book to anyone who is an animal lover, it will touch your heart.
